Brooklyn Design Studio CL-OTH Styles a Storied Model Residence Collection with Locally-Sourced Homewares, Inspiring a New Mindset for Renters Everywhere
499 President is a living gallery of Brooklyn’s creative spirit in the heart of Gowanus. Developed by Brodsky in partnership with Avery Hall, the new luxury rental development is the catalyst for Curate Local: a mindset shift in how New Yorkers style and furnish their apartments. The team is presenting a unique collection of model residences curated with homewares from Brooklyn retailers, makers, and artisans, expanding on the award-winning Brodsky Neighbors program that turns residents into locals.
“Gowanus has always been a vibrant community, and with 499 President we are proudly becoming part of that fabric. Brodsky knows that each of our rental properties uniquely contributes to the surrounding neighborhood’s culture and economy. We are so excited to introduce Curate Local – the mindset and the model residence collection, both deepening our connection to Gowanus and Brooklyn,” said Joe Porritt, Director of Leasing & Marketing at The Brodsky Organization.
Designed by SLCE Architects and Avery Hall, 499 President’s 10-story, hand-laid Danish brick façade and black-framed windows pay homage to Gowanus’ industrial heritage. For the interiors, Brooklyn-based design studio CL-OTH crafted modern homes and amenities with interiors that feel quintessential to Brooklyn and yet move the aesthetic forward.
