A new luxury rental building is opening its doors in the heart of Brooklyn’s bustling Gowanus neighborhood.

Now available to lease with move-ins commencing early spring, 499 President combines 350 state-of-the-art residences with lavish amenities, rich community and sweeping views of the New York City skyline.

The property was developed by Brodsky and Avery Hall and features studio, one and two bedroom apartments, many with access to private outdoor spaces.

Located between Nevins and 3rd Avenue, the 10-story building has become a welcomed addition to the neighborhood’s low-rise streetscape and features a contemporary, hand-laid brick facade that has been designed with materials from renowned Danish brick manufacturer Peterson TEGL. Striking black window frames are a nod to a nod to the area’s industrial architecture, while vast green spaces will bring a touch of nature to big city living.

“Avery Hall is proud to partner with The Brodsky Organization and bring our unique in-house design perspective to 499 President. Focusing on Gowanus’ rich history, we have crafted a facade that pays homage to the neighborhood’s industrial past, featuring oversized warehouse-style casement windows and hand-laid Danish bricks," said Jesse Wark, Founding Partner at Avery Hall, in a press release. "Drawing inspiration from the area’s historic fabric, we incorporated contextual materials and design elements that not only acknowledge its past but also embrace its future as a vibrant residential community.”

The apartments have been designed to offer residents a tranquil and calming environment; a relaxing haven away from the hustle and bustle of New York City. In the open-concept kitchen and living area, large windows and a neutral color palette offers plenty of natural light and will brighten up the space, while Caesarstone countertops and tiled backsplashes add a touch of understated glamor.

Amenities span across 25,000 square-feet on three floors and includes a games room, a state-of-the-art fitness center with a Pilates studio and a golf simulator room, a media room, a coworking lounge with a solarium, a serene interior courtyard for quiet reflection and more. Outside spaces were designed by Steven Dubner Landscaping and include several lush gardens, terraces and a pool and cabana area.

In addition, residents will have access to the award-winning Brodsky Neighbors program. A dedicated team works to provide resident events and activations to create a sense of community and togetherness throughout the building, including yoga classes, holiday parties and fun-filled excursions.
