Off the Menu | Looking Ahead - Bar Pisellino Flatiron

The ladies of Via Carota, Jody Williams and Rita Sodi, among others, will continue their uptown expansion. In addition to refiguring and managing the restaurants at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, they will open a branch of their Bar Pisellino in the historic Flatiron Building, now under renovation to become residential. A century or so ago, the building was home to the Flatiron Restaurant and then Taverne Louis, a 400-seat sprawl in the basement that was killed by Prohibition. Their take on the dolce vita of Milanese cafes is to open next year with sidewalk seating part of the plan.
